Pediatric Dentists

Dr. Soporowski | Dr. Kim | Dr. Grunes

Nancy Jo Soporowski, D.M.D.

Dr. Nancy Jo Soporowski graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Rutgers University. She graduated first in her class from University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. She completed her internship and residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard University. She is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (National Dental Honor Society), American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, and the Academy of Sports Dentistry. She has lectured nationally and authored numerous journal articles in her specialty. She attended in the Pediatric Dental Department over 25 years at Boston Children's Hospital. She has practiced in Natick since 1991 and has appreciated the privilege of treating multiple generations of patients.

Johanne Kim, D.D.S.

Dr. Johanne Kim received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Bates College and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. She completed a general practice residency at Yale New Haven Hospital and received her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Connecticut. Dr. Kim is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Massachusetts Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Association of Hospital Dentists. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Kim maintains a courtesy staff position at Children's Hospital Boston.

Outside the office, Dr. Kim enjoys reading, martial arts, traveling and spending time with her family.

Brandon Grunes, D.M.D.

Dr. Brandon Grunes was born and raised in Natick, Massachusetts. After graduating from Natick High School, he completed his undergraduate education with high honors at Cornell University. He then received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine Degree from Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he graduated first in his class and also served as the class Vice President. Dr. Grunes went on to complete his training in Pediatric Dentistry at Boston Children's Hospital, where he continues to serve as courtesy staff teaching current residents, and remains a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Beyond teeth, Dr. Grunes enjoys spending time with his wife and son, all things sports related, and astronomy!

Orthodontists

James “Jamie” F. Kane, III, D.M.D.

Dr. Jamie Kane graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from the Tufts School of Dental Medicine and a Post-Doctoral certificate in Orthodontics. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, Massachusetts Association of Orthodontists and the Massachusetts Dental association. He is the President-elect of the Massachusetts Association of Orthodontists.

Dr. Kane's greatest personal interest outside the dentistry is technology. He has lectured at Yankee Dental Congress on integrating the modern dental office with contemporary digital equipment. He grew up in Framingham and Holliston. Dr. Kane went to high school in Shrewsbury and has worked in the practice since he was 12 years old. He now resides in Holliston, Massachusetts with his wife, Krista, son and two daughters. He enjoys skiing, concerts and supporting the Patriots.

Peiman Mahdavi, D.M.D.

Dr. Peiman Mahdavi received his B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of California at Davis and his D.M.D. from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He completed his general practice residency at New England Medical Centre and Tufts University, followed by a two-year post-graduate residency in Orthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He is a member of Massachusetts Dental Society, the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Mahdavi served as President of the Massachusetts Association of Orthodontists from 2010 to 2012, and is President of the Tufts University Dental Alumni Association from 2017-2018.

Dr. Mahdavi became an Invisalign Certified Orthodontists in 2000, and is now an Elite Invisalign Provider. Dr. Mahdavi is a proud partner of Smiles Change Lives, a national Non- Profit Organization that helps kids from low-income families get braces.

He and his wife along with two daughters reside in Wellesley, MA.  As a family they also enjoy skiing, traveling, and hiking. When Dr. Mahdavi is considering the treatment to recommend for a patient he always asks himself what he would do if it were his wife or daughters.

Dr, Kate MarcksKatharine "Kate" Marcks, D.M.D.

Dr. Kate Marcks completed her undergraduate education at Boston College, after which she worked in neuroscience research for the US Department of Agriculture prior to returning to school. She received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from the University of Connecticut. While in Pittsburgh, PA for her husband’s medical residency, she completed a General Practice Residency at Allegheny General Hospital, providing dentistry for patients with complex medical needs. She returned to Boston to complete a three-year orthodontic residency at Boston University, where she received her Master’s Degree. Dr. Marcks is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Massachusetts Dental Society.

Dr. Marcks lives on the South Shore with her husband and daughter. In her free time, she enjoys distance running and has completed 19 half marathons and 3 full marathons. She also loves spending time in her kitchen experimenting with new recipes.



Dentistry for Teens and Adults

Dr. Minehart | Dr. Cooper

Stephen Minehart, D.M.D.

Dr. Stephen Minehart received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Previously, Dr. Minehart was a staff dentist at the University of Michigan Hospital where he was Assistant Director of Hospital Dentistry and a lecturer at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Since returning to New England in 2006, Dr. Minehart has worked for prestigious private practices in Greater Boston area, practicing Family and Cosmetic Dentistry.

A former Hospital Dentist, Dr. Minehart has expertise in post-traumatic and post-surgical dental reconstruction. Additionally, he has extensive experience managing medically complex patients and fabricating dental appliances to treat temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, sleep apnea and snoring.

Dr. Minehart is a strong advocate of preventive care, and believes that oral health is a key part of good overall health and well-being. His philosophy is that the dental office, as a team, should provide the best possible care to meet every patient's individual needs, whether it is a routine maintenance or creating the perfect smile. 

Dr. CooperLauren Cooper, D.M.D.

Dr. Lauren Cooper, D.M.D.- General Dentistry. Dr. Lauren Cooper received her undergraduate degree in biology from Tufts University, where she also played for the women's lacrosse team. She decided to pursue a career in dentistry and continued her education at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. After graduation, Dr. Cooper completed a on-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, furthering her training in general dentistry and providing comprehensive dental care to patients, including those with complex medical and special needs. Outside of the office, Dr. Cooper enjoys hiking with her husband and dog, skiing and going to the beach.

Endodontist

Steven Saunders, D.M.D.

Dr. Steven Saunders received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Boston College and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He completed a General Practice residency at the Public Health Service Hospital in Staten Island, New York and received his Certificate in Endodontics from Tufts University. Dr. Saunders is a member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, the American Association of Endodontics and the West Metropolitan Study Club of the Massachusetts Dental Society. He is board certified in Endodontics and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Saunders is also a part-time faculty member in the Department of Endodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
